Lea Hungerbühler is a Swiss qualified lawyer focusing on financial and technology law as well as human rights. She worked for several years for major Swiss and international law firms in the banking department as well as for the Federal Department of Finance. In 2019, she earned her LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School, after which she launch her own boutique law firm in Zurich. Besides her work as an attorney-at-law, Lea has a mandate as vice-president of the criminal court in Basel-Landschaft. In 2017, Lea founded the Swiss charity AsyLex (www.asylex.ch) which provides legal aid to refugees, focusing on the delivery of online legal services to improve access to justice. The charity supported more than 2'500 people so far. In addition to this, Lea launched her own LegalTech company (www.lexbot.ch), where she and her co-founder provide chatbot solutions for law-related purposes. Lea further teaches for the Certificate of Advanced Studies in LegalTech (module on chatbots) and in Compliance (module on asset management) at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (HWZ).

Originally from London, Ilan is a British/Israeli national with experience helping international organizations manage relations and resolve conflicts with stakeholders in multiple cultural contexts. He holds degrees in East Asian Studies from the University of Sheffield and in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Tel Aviv University. Starting his professional life in London’s financial sector, Ilan moved to Beijing in 2009 to build on his undergraduate studies and learn Mandarin. He also worked for the UK government in the Chinese capital before relocating to Israel for graduate studies. During and after completing his MA, Ilan worked with several prominent NGOs and universities before returning to China to join the newly-established Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Recently based in Shanghai helping international companies manage their operations in the Chinese market, Ilan is currently working remotely as a mediator, trainer and intercultural conflict coach.

Mr. Adejuwon Adenuga is an Estate Management graduate from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Oyo State, Nigeria in 1983. Michael Tomko is an arbitrator and mediator who specializes in helping clients resolve civil, domestic, employment and labor disputes. Mike is a member of the American Arbitration Association labor arbitration panel, FINRA public arbitration panel, Utatuzi Center mediation panel, he conducts private mediations, and appears on several court mediation rosters. Nicole Ahoya is a Switzerland- and Kenya-based researcher and jurist. She holds Master's degrees in Law from the University of Zurich (Switzerland) as well as Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Zurich and Nairobi. She is currently a Lecturer and PhD Researcher at the University of Lucerne (Switzerland). For her PhD, she is researching the new forms of Law Tech in Kenya at the intersection of Law and Anthropology. She also works pro bono as a Legal Advisor for the Swiss charity AsyLex (www.asylex.ch) which provides legal aid to refugees.

As a legal and social sciences scholar, Nicole is passionate about understanding how law functions on the ground. The combination of law and anthropology allows her to analyze the nuances and plurality of law that shape everyday interactions and outcomes in different contexts. She is particularly interested in new digital forms of making justice accessible.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her kids and doing different kinds of sports. She has a penchant for exploring new places, interacting with a diverse set of people, and trying out new cuisines.

I am an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Professional Mediator. I work with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Kenya as a Programme Manager – Access to Justice. Prior to IDLO, I worked with the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) Kenya Chapter and Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kenya, in the capacity of a Programme Officer for Women and Governance and Human Rights Protection Programmes respectively.

I have keen interest in Access to Justice and Human Rights work fueled by my growing experiences working on related programmes, especially for women and children. I have spent a significant portion of my professional life coordinating programmes and contributing to the development of knowledge products such as: Women on the Move: Profiles for the Women Members of Kisumu County Assembly (2013 – 2017); Guidelines to Streamline the Utilization of Political Parties Fund 2015; Guidelines for Gender Mainstreaming in Political Parties, 2016; and Profiles and Status of Women in Judiciaries in East Africa, 2018.

Mr. Rashid Mbwiza is a Lawyer working with the firm of Maina Njanga & Company Advocates, Mombasa. He is also a listed arbitrator and mediator with the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA) in Kenya, and a member of the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre (SDRC). He is also accredited as a mediator by the Mediation Accreditation Committee (MAC) under the Kenyan Judiciary.

His research interests are in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), traditional justice systems, property law and natural resources governance.

Wilson Macharia is an LLD candidate and Tutor at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria,, and a Researcher in the Disability Rights Unit. A consultant in disability rights, Wilson has been involved in designing and implementing key projects and policies aimed at eliminating the barriers that impede the full and effective participation of Persons With Disabilities. This includes coordinating the Public Participation Disability Inclusion Index project which seeks to enhance participation of PWDs in political and public life in Kenya. Wilson sits in the Caucus for Disability Rights Advocacy hosted by the United Disabled Persons of Kenya, and is a member of the Reference Group which successfully conducted a Baseline Research on the inclusion of students with disabilities at the University of Nairobi. His research interests include access to justice, socio-economic rights of vulnerable groups and marginalized communities, and digital inclusion.

Jasper Lubeto is an Advocate practicing in Kenya. In addition to teaching at Strathmore Law School, I currently serve as the Faculty Director of the Strathmore Law Clinic. At the Strathmore Law Clinic, we aim to promote access to justice by extending legal aid and support services to various qualifying sections of the society including the disadvantaged & marginalized persons, and upcoming entrepreneurs. We also carry out research aimed at curating legal knowledge and information for easy consumption by members of the public.

I am a holder of LL.M, LL.B, CS(K) and CPA (Finalist) qualifications. I teach commercial and conveyancing law units. I have also written on Agricultural Land Investments Contracts in sub-Saharan Africa (2018), among other papers. I have also legally advised on numerous contentious and non-contentious transactions. I have an interest in disputes resolution, corporate/commercial transactions, real estate and conveyancing practice, and legal aid and support provision.

When I am not reading current legal and political literature; then I am probably having a chat with entrepreneurs as I seek to understand their business ventures.
